This is a good product to allow regular headphones to be used with the IPOD shuffle 3rd generation.

Bought the product to use in my car on the end of the cord I used to plug in my old Shuffle and my new Shuffle 3G. It didn’t work. Period.
It does work in the house on the speakers I used for my old iPod.
Go figure.
Maybe I’ll try another adapter, perhaps the Belkin, although the reviews weren’t great either.

DO NOT BUY THIS .. its a waste of time and money ….. I received my device yesterday.. it was solid … I was happy… but I broke this morning when the cover fell off of the controller … its trash.. this should be taken off amazon in my opinion … less than 24 hours …. also when I find out how to get my money back I will … Im beyond angry …

This device does the job. However, the part that supplies the volume controls is extraordinarily fragile. Also, it is for volume control only and does not allow you to advance a song on your IPOD. I would not buy it unless I was desperate for a solution.

A little flimsy in construction but works as advertised. My kids have used it and they like it.
