I have been using an old Philips alarm clock for years and was looking for an upgrade. I've been using this alarm clock for about a month and am really happy with it - it met all of my expectations and more.

Pros:
- It takes up much less room than similar devices.
- The LCD brightness is adjustable and isn't bothersome in the dark.
- I was worried that my iPhone wouldn't fit with its case on, but with the adjustable support there was no problem. The adjustable support also means you can plug an iPod Nano in without any problems.
- The alarm uses the iPhone's music to wake up and the volume is adjustable (it can start off much quieter than the alarm in the phone itself)
- Alarms 1 and 2 can be set Mon-Fri, Sat-Sun, and 7 days
- Sounds quality is impressive for the size (I actually use it to listen to internet radio from the iPhone)

Cons:
- With the time, day and date on the LCD it can be a bit hard to read, especially without glasses (not a problem for everyone)

Overall- I'm really happy with it - it's exactly what I wanted!

Let me start by saying that I have used most brands of iPhone alarm clock docking stations - including Luna, iHome, Sony, and Logitech. All of these suffered design flaws that were deal breakers for me (they may have had features that the Philips does not have -- but I didn't really need). Flaws included -- just not working as an alarm clock (logitech), being HUGE (iHome), being cheap/ugly looking (sony), and not offering good physical support of the phone (Sony, iHome, Luna). The Philips is a great clean looking unit - that your phone sits flush with -- it offers support in the back of the phone so if you accidentally hit your phone while it is on the dock you dont have to worry about damaging the connector. The Orange light is nice (and adjustable) - the day and date are displayed, there are separate alarms (customizable to weekdays, weekends or all days).
Now is it the best speaker system for your phone ?-- Not by a mile (there is no remote, the sound is only okay) -- but for a bedside alarm clock there is nothing on the market that compares to this. If that is what you need - buy this!!!

I found this to be a worth while product. I havent had any problems with it out of the box. The Philips description is very accurate. Somethings not mentioned are: it is 3gs compatible, it will charge new iphones. Only thing it says on mine is IPOD instead of IPHONE - this is mentioned in manual. If you have a problem with the buttons (play, skip), just reset your iphone. Draw back is it does tend to fall forward, a couple of rubber feet under speakers in front will fix that. It takes a little getting used to, but that is common with most electronics. I havent unplugged mine but the other reviewer states it has a capacitor which makes sense since it doesnt have battery back up. Overall I am very happy with it, the sound is very good for a clock radio and the look is great since it matches the iphone.

I bought this primarily to charge my iPhone at night, and as a new alarm clock. I love how the alarm starts of very quiet (I almost can't even hear it), and very gradually gets louder. So much nicer to wake to instead of the loud obnoxious old thing I'd been using for 25 years. The iphone fits nicely, even with a slim case on it. The buttons to control the iphone can be a bit slow to react, but not an issue for me. Also love the sleep timer so that I can listen to music as I go to sleep and it turns off automatically. You can even set the snooze interval.

I bought this clock and loved it in almost every way. It was a little too big but I could get over that. Setting the alarm is really great & easy & there are several settings for brighness, a monday-friday alarm setting, dual alarm setting, and I could put my iphone on the charger without fussing with the dock, HOWEVER this clock does not let you recieve text messages while your iphone is charging so I returned it. This is highly annoying and disappointing that Phillips does that with this model alarm clock. There is another model alarm clock also made by phillips that does not have the annoying text probelem, however that model has a very strange way of deactivating the alarm when you set it to the radio alarm setting. All in all after buying lots of iphone alarm clocks and trying them at home I'm quite disappointed. They all seem to be a) too big and clunky b)80% of them wont let you hear your text messages c) make it hard to simply put your phone on the charger d) Way too expensive !! I dont neccessarily need the alarm clock to have the latest in stereo sound. For all the people considering an ihome alarm clock, I havent found an ihome alarm clock yet that will allow you to hear text messages so if this is important to you watch out for that too.
