After hours and hours of tracking a portable charger for my new iPhone 3GS I was fully prepared to the point I had the shopping cart all set for a Mophia product and then I stumbled over this product on accident. Am I glad I did. I do not usually go out of my way to write reviews unless I feel the product and especially the company behind the product warrants it. In this case both warrant the attention and a highly positive review. I have been working with it for several days now and find it a ABSOLUTE MUST HAVE for all you traveling families not just you traveling business folks.
The product is much smaller than I expected it to be as mentioned in the other reviews it is smaller than the iPhone itself and comes with a retractable cable which can also substitute for your CPU plug-in replacing the Apple one. It fully charges in a few hours and is ready to use as advertised.
Family PRO: Extremely adaptable not only will it do the iPhone, iPod Touch, but also your business phones (for those who on vacation you know you do), Nintendo DS Lite, GameBoy…..so picture delay in airport with kids HELLO we can update all their gaming devices and your iPhone/Touch and STILL have juice left over for that flight.
BOTH PRO: With their extra adapators you can leave your phone, iPhone/Touch cables at home the IMP500 has all your needs taken care of in one set of device and attachments…takes up much less space for travel.
BOTH PRO: You can continue to USE your device WHILE it is charging. This is a MAJOR Plus for those long business flights and stays in airports and/or waiting for the hotel room. BOTH PRO: imaxpower Customer service and product support is phenomenal. I order the product and received it within 2 days…did I mention it was FREE SHIPPING. I was thinking a week, and I had it in time to use for an out of town family get together. I also screwed up and ordered the wrong parts and they were extremely accommodating for my stupidity. All my email questions were answered within 30 MINUTES…HELLO, CUSTOMER SERVICE RESPONSE WITHIN 30 MINS…enough said there :-).
BOTH CON: The only thing I bad that I have to say about this product is that it does not come with a simple case of some kind to keep the cable and adapters with the IMP500 in for ease of traveling…THAT’S IT. Certainly no reason not to buy it.
So there you have it an extremely flexible device that will do everything it says it will do and more..what are you waiting for do what I did by a his and hers model. You can keep one in the family car for those restaurant trips when the kids need their gaming device and its not charged even though they “swore” they did.

I am a frequent traveller and I use my iphone extensively every time when I travel, such as checking email, surfing internet, making phone call etc. I really travel a lot. I guess you also travel a lot
I bought this IMP500 (remember to buy one with imaxpower AC charger!)and found this product is really awesome. It gave my iphone a lot of battery juice. I tested imp500 many times, when the battery was brand new, after the first charge, I can use it to recharge my 3G iphone by 3.5 times, so i contacted seller imaxpower. They explained that the brand new LIP battery pack need to be waked up and it was not fully activiated yet, it need to be recharged for at least 10 times to reach its maximum performance. That is very special for LIP battery. So I fully recharge it a few more times, now I can use it to recharge my 3G iPhone by 3.9 times, very close to 400%.
The battery itself is pretty compact. Compare with other battery, its size was slightly larger, but still similar iphone size. Slightly wider than iphone but same size as blackberry curve.
The imaxpower Charger is quite different from my original iphone charger. Oringinal iphone charger works fine with imp500 battery pack, but it will take 7-9 hours to charge imp500 to full 100%. I asked them why, the reason iphone AC charger charging current was low, the AC charger provided by the imaxpower was different, it tooked less than 5 hours to fully charge imp500. The different was speed. I noticed the AC charger is UL certified. Pretty safe.
The imp500 worked with itouch as well. My family had both 1st and 2nd generation itouch. It works just fine.
My kids had portable game system. Okay this is something you may want to know. Adapter need to be chosen very carefully. Make sure you ask them the correct adapter before you buy one. Nintendo DS and Nintendo DS lite was very different. Sony PSP was also different. I ordered the wrong adapter for my blackberry at the first time. Micro USB and mini USB was for different blackberry phone. Mine is blackberry curve need mini USB. They change it for me for free. Good service.
Another things is to make sure you buy it with original imaxpower AC charger, not regular AC charger. A lot of my friends bought it without AC charger from ebay, it is 4-5 dollars cheapter with free shipping but those reseller did not provide an imaxpower AC charger, it is not very good, even with imp500 battery pack, without a fast charging AC charger, you will be really regret. If you order it seperately from imaxpower, it will cost you 16$ total. A good AC wall charger will save you a lot of time and money.

When I decided to take a trip to India, I started to look for a way to charge my iPhone 3GS on the long flight, as well protect my iPhone from possible power surges that could damage my iPhone, if I were to plug it directly into an Indian outlet. After doing some research on Amazon, the IMP500 seemed to fit the bill. So far, I haven’t had any problems with the unit. It charges my iphone 3GS as advertised, and it seems to have a rather large capacity because I’ve charged my iPhone twice and there appears to be no change in the battery meter indicator. However, I think that the meter could be more legible. I like the form factor, and the case looks attractive. The on/off button is a nice feature so that the unit can keep its charge. Finally, the fact that so many different adaptor tips were included was very nice. All in all, a rather good unit that serves my purposes well.
