1) I received this in the mail. 2) I plugged it into my 32GB iPhone 3GS that was a couple months old and working fine. 3) about 10 hours later (the next morning) I unplugged it and the iPhone was completely nonfunctional. Totally dead. A BRICK.
Additional info: The iPhone had a screen protector on it. When I unplugged it in the morning, the edge of the screen protector seemed to have come off a little on its own. I see this as a clue that perhaps the external battery unit had somehow made the iPhone overheat. Perhaps this excessive heat is what rendered the iPhone nonfunctional.
Bottom line: This cheap Chinese-made device apparently bricked my iPhone. I’m surprised that 15 minutes of Googling around hasn’t turned up any similar experiences with this device, so maybe this was just a bad-luck fluke. YMMV.
