this is the worst nano yet. its soo ugly, it has horrible audio quality even with better speakers. it also always freezes up. there is distortion when used. it is annoying!

the 'new and improved' nano. be serious.

I love the almost-square nano's shape, and its navigation is pleasant. perhaps Apple should take a note from history, like Coca-Cola did--if it's not broken, don't fix it. in terms of the 'new and improved' design, it's simply a different, albeit 'been-there-done-that' design. a rehash of something old.

Apple's 'Think Different', forward thinking, does NOT apply.

Ladies and gents! you can get an 80gb for the price of this 16bg. I LOVE my 80gb 5.5 gen iPod and have NO plans to upgrade. The last iPod Nano (the first iPod nano to feture videos) is also a gem. I bought one for my Dad and it really is so lovely and tiny and he can sneak it anywhere he wants. However, Appel might have fallen victim to over design.
Im glad the TOUCH is not going to be the stadard. I think the classic wheel is the best way to go for music, videos, and games. The wheel is the best invention since... well... the wheel.
I like the classic white and these colors are a bit to fruity for me. Personally I would like a Black or Silver iPod so it would match my iPod speakers.
Also, Im not sure about the Genius playlist it makes. I listen to a LOT of audio books I have on CD format. I dont normally buy them off iTunes but borrow them for free from the library and download them to my iPod to save money. How will this iPod read that?
I may be wrong and it may be a great iPod. Appel iPods have yet to disapoint me. I will not buy a cheep MP3 player, I will only go iPod but I plan to buy a 6th gen 80BG silver iPod for my spouse instead of this new one. After all, its the same price as this one's 16 GB.

The screen is nice. The aesthetics - well, it's Apple. The extra features, while "neat," are unnecessary, and sometimes outright silly. My problems with this device are two-fold:

The device loses two stars because iTunes (and yes, the Nano itself) rejects half of my MP3s - ALL of which played without problem on my 2nd Gen Nano (!!!) as well as in WinAmp and Windows Media Player. I've had to re-encode half of the MP3s I've put on the device.

The device loses another star because the Nano refuses to allow any of the three iPod-compatible devices that worked perfectly with my 2nd Gen Nano (vehicle stereo, clock radio, etc) to charge it.

Unless you really NEED to play videos on a tiny screen, you're much better off getting a 2nd Gen, if you can.
